BF and I planned on going out to dinner at one of our favorite Cantonese restaurant for some dim sum. Unfortunately they were closed. We planned on going low budget and tried an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. But surprise surprise this was fully booked on a saturday evening. So we went for Happy Sushi instead…
Happy Sushi is a so-called conveyor belt sushi restaurant. You pick a dish from the conveyor belt and the color of the dish corresponds with a certain price.
Here are some pics of what we had. I forgot to take a photo on a couple of occasions.
On the left: Rainbow maki. Inside out maki, rice mixed with orange and wasabi tobiko, stuffed with crab, cucumber and avocado. On the right: Lucky maguro. Tuna rolled in a soy paper, rice and wasabi tobiko.
Left: Kushi maki. Tempura shrimp, nori, rice, tobiko and sesame seeds. Right: Tuna love. Tuna, avocado, soy paper, rice, orange and wasabi tobiko. Tuna love is one of our favorites, it’s so wonderfully nommy! They sometimes make this one with cheese, which I don’t like.
Left: Veggi rolls. Vegetarian spring rolls with chili sauce. Also had duck rolls which were very ducky and delish. Right: Kushi. Deep fried prawns in panko breadcrumbs. <3
Absolute NOMber one is the Maguro sandwich. A sandwich of rice/nori with tuna/sesame seed tartar in the middle, topped with crab salad (with kewpie mayo) and wasabi tobiko. *droooooooool*
