This puff pastry tart was inspired by the leftovers found in my refrigerator. I decided to make a cheats version of a “Tarte Flambée” or “Flammkuchen”.
- Ingrediënten:
- 1 large sheet puff pastry
- 150g crème fraîche
- 1 small or half onion, in thin slices
- ½ green pepper, in thin slices
- 4-5 streaks of bacon, in small strips
- Grated mature cheese
- Freshly ground pepper
Directions
Preheat the oven at 400°F/200°C.
Place the puff pastry on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Fold over ⅓” of the pastry to create a border. Press down gently.
Stir the crème fraîche to loosen it and spread a layer on the puff pastry. Top with the onion, green pepper, bacon and cheese. Because of the saltiness of the bacon and cheese I only season it with freshly ground pepper.
You could use more cheese than I did. I didn’t want it to overpower the rest of the ingredients too much.
Bake for 20 minutes in the center of the oven.
Done! Super easy and delicious. You can eat this hot or cold.
You could top this tart with just about anything. Just don’t pile it too high or too full or the pastry might not cook through.
