A week ago BF and I had lunch at Picknick Rotterdam.
Unfortunately service was absolutely horrible and we probably wont be back. One of the waitresses had an accident which resulted in my wool jacket and bag (Freitag thank god) to be covered in coffee creamer. Luckily no stains, but it reeked horribly. Accidents can happen and I don’t blame her at all. I thought it was very unfriendly that no other staff members offered to help her clean up the mess. We had to wait a very long time for our drinks and order. Sometimes staff take it a bit too far checking wether guests want more drinks or food, but they took it to the absolute opposite. It’s such a shame though, because their food is nice.
Anyways on to the food.
BF had the lunch platter which consisted of a cup of soup, sour dough bread and various toppings. Pate with pistachios, onion relish, aged and young cheese, cured ham, butter, huzar salad and goat’s cheese with apricot walnut jelly.
I had the quiche platter of a veggy quiche, small rocket salad, sour dough bread and butter. The menu advertised it with a small tomato salad, I guess they were out of tomatoes. The quiche and salad was really minuature and I was long finished before my BF was.
Finally we had the very nice scones with strawberry jelly and thick whipped cream (wonder if it was clotted cream). How do they get them that tall?!
