For my BF’s birthday we went for sushi at Sumo’s.. yes sushi.. AGAIN.. <3
Above you can see a california roll and crispy roll <3 (inside out roll stuffed with tempura crunchies, salad leaf and tobiko. Next to that a chuka wakame gunkan (seaweed battleship) and tamago nigiri (egg on sushi rice).
I am a bad bad foodblogger because I failed to take pictures of all we had. When there is food in front of me I want to eat it!
Chikuwa (fish tube) with teriyaki sauce and salmon nigiri.
Prawn and vegetable tempura (courgette and japanese yam).
Along with all that we had chicken skewers with teriyaki sauce, cucumber and tuna rolls, tuna nigiri, unagi nigiri and inari(tofu pouch).
My common complaint with sushi is that most of the time, the rice is too cold. It should be room tempurature. Although the rice today wasn’t room tempurature, it wasn’t too cold to enjoy the flavors. It’s a shame that at Sumo all the warm dishes have the same teriyaki sauce poured on top. But we didn’t chose that many to prevent teriyaki overload.
