Steamed rice with chicken shawarma

Steamed rice with chicken shoarma and aubergine At a local Islamic supermarket we bought chicken shawarma readily cut and spiced. I don’t know how these were spiced so I can’t help you with that. Before pan frying the shawarma I pan fried an aubergine and a red bell pointed pepper. Nice in a wrap or pita bread, but with some steamed rice is a nice alternative.

DotD: Oven baked chicken wings and potato salad

Oven baked chicken wings and potato salad Don’t remember the exact ingredients and measurements of todays dish so I made it a DotD post. Marinated oven baked chicken wings, potato salad, boiled egg and a couple of baby gem leaves.

For the marinade I used: soy sauce, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder and honey. In the potato salad I used (japanese) mayo, mustard, chopped gherkin, bacon strips and a little onion. The potatoes were boiled with a bit of chicken stock powder.

Cream cheese, spinach and bacon pasta Simple student food. Although I haven’t been a student for some time now I still enjoy this pasta. Pasta with cream cheese (garlic and herbs cream cheese), spinach ala creme and strips of bacon.

Pasta in creamy mushroom and ham sauce I’m back and will post some updates on some food photo’s I made in the meantime. This is a cheats dish since I used a packet for the creamy sauce. Penne with strips of ham, ordinary button mushrooms in a creamy sauce.

friedrice I like making fried rice from left over scraps. This time we had fried rice with a small onion, grilled bacon and frozen peas together with mini spring rolls and acar.

Stir fry Spinach and fried rice

Made some fried rice and stir fried spinach last tuesday. Fried rice has, egg, onion, peas, bite size pieces of grilled bacon to which I added some rice wine and soy sauce. Spinach stir fry has some garlic, soy and oyster sauce added to it. *nom*

Yesterday I made a spinach ricotta and tomato sauce lasagna. I’ll spare you the photo’s, not sure if I’ll ever be able to make lasagna look apetising in a photo.

Simple pastaYesterday we had this very simple pasta dish. Penne with a sauce made with red roasted pepper pesto a bit of Gorgonzola and some semi sun dried tomatoes. A quick and easy weekday pasta dish.

Lamb rack with chimichurri

Cooking at mom’s. Oven roasted lamb rack with red cabbage and hassleback potatoes. The potatoes were a bit ugly so I won’t be sharing those today :p.
For the chimichurri sauce I mixed the following ingredients: extra virgin olive oil, parsley, oregano, thyme and 3 cloves of garlic. Very nice with roasted/grilled meats.
